Deployment

Multi-protocol compression requires cooperation between two SpiderOne devices to compress and then decompress the network traffic circulating between them. The SpiderOne are therefore deployed in point-to-point mode.

However, this does not require any special configuration or routing. The SpiderOne are deployed non-intrusively in the live network. The transparent and invisible interception mechanism processes only those connections affected by the compression.

The auto-recognition mechanism means that compression is activated automatically as soon as a connection crosses at least two SpiderOne. If the traffic crosses more than two SpiderOne, compression is carried out on the longest journey. The intermediary SpiderOne do not therefore carry out any processing.
